To be in the contest, you need to be
a working comic with at least 12 months of experience. Many of these
comics have been working on the road for quite some time now performing
in clubs all over the country. It is quite possible that you’ll
recognize several of these entertainers from clubs such as Harvey’s
comedy club in Portland, the Comedy Underground in Seattle, or Giggles
in Tacoma.
Each of the contestants will prepare comedy set lengths varying from
4-6 minutes each for the first two weeks to 10-12 minute sets on the
night of the finals.
As this is an elimination-based contest, we will start with 20 total
comedians at the beginning of the competition and finish with 5 comics
on the night of the finals. At each venue, members of the audience
will judge each of the comics based on several factors with only the
funniest comics advancing to the next round. Expect these comics to
throw some of their best stuff at you, which always makes for a great
show!
While we can't even begin to name all of the prizes in the competition,
we can assure you that the value will be higher than the cash given
away. But, if you're anything like the comics in the competition,
you want to know one thing...how much cash!?! So, below is the breakdown
